The Space Between:A Parent’s Guide To Teenage Development

December 21, 2010

One of the secrets of good writing is to understand the target audience of the intended book. Dr. Walt Mueller understands parents of adolescents and where the gaps may be in a general understanding of teenage development because he is a parent himself. In this short 120 page book Walt covers all the essential information helpful to parents from adolescent brain development to spiritual and moral stages. The book also provides the added needed ingredients of hope and perspective. The book is not specificaly written for youth workers, authorities on adolescence or therapists but for parents with no assumed expert knowledge but a desire to understand thier teenagers just a little bit better.Although the book is intentionaly not technical Walt’s scholarship and research shine through in a very readable presentation. I recomend this book to busy parents, and grandparents and even plan to have severial copies on hand to distribute when I hear of an approaching 13th birthday.
