Leading with Billy Graham: The Leadership Principles of T.W. Wilson

January 19, 2011

There are so many “Leadership” books on the market that another one published may or not make a splash on peoples reading lists. This book however is different because T.W. Wilson is not a well known ministry figure but the “man behind Billy Graham”, his bodyguard, travel/accountability partner, personal secretary and friend. The principles explored are not new but they are explored in the context of leading from behind the scenes. It has been said that the hardest instrument to play is second fiddle”. It is obvious that T.W.Wilson played that role long enough and well enough for us to learn from his life. In addition to the leadership lessons, the stories of Graham and the history of evangelism crusades both positive and negative (attempts on Billy Grahams life) some of which I have heard and others which were new. They were worth the cost of the book and the time it took to read. You may not learn much new about leadership but you will learn a lot about the impact of Billy Graham’s ministry over the last decades.
