A Call To Spiritual Reformation: Priorities from Paul and His Prayers

March 8, 2011

Every so often the right author selects the right topic and a classic is produced. Such is the case of this 1992 book by D.A. Carson. The thesis is deceptivly simple, examine the content, structure and spirit of the Pauline prayers recorded in the New Testament to allow for the recalabration of the prayers of God’s people in this present age. With D.A. Carson the exegesis is complete and thought provoking bordering on brillent. These chapters are augmented by topical chapters on “Excuses for not Praying” and the very practical “Lessons from the School of Prayer. If you read only one book on prayer in 2011 for your Spiritual life or if you want to teach a series on the prayers of Paul to challenge the current shallowness of North American prayer practices this is a book for you!

Sounds like a book I would like to read! I just put it on my Kindle wish list! Someone gave me a kindle secretly two days before I returned to Poland. WHAT A BLESSING it has been!! Still, there is nothing like the feeling of turning pages of a real book! I hope they don’t stop making them anytime soon! 🙂

Looking forward to your group’s coming in May!
