The Five Dysfunctions of a Team

October 28, 2014

Few topics attract more attention in the present ministry and business world than that of building teams. Patrick Lencioni has added to the literature on this subject in his excellent book THE FIVE DYSFUNCTIONS OF A TEAM (2002, Jossey-Bass). The book is subtitled “A Leadership Fable” which is a very accurate description. The book is written in the same vein as the One-Minute Manager with fictional characters living out the principles communicated didactically in the last section of the book. The fable deals with a software firm but the principles of team building are universal. The book’s value is enhanced by a clearly explained model, assessments, sidebars, and diagrams. If you are looking to build or rebuild a team in ministry or business these 225 pages are well worth your time and money!
